This play is based on personal interviews with Holocaust rescuer Irene Gut Opdyke. The piece is told through narrative "visited memories", film images, and original music and songs.

With a mixture of drama, suspense and humor, Powder Puff Pilots explores the first Women’s National Air Derby of 1929. This musical tells the story of Amelia Earhart and thirteen other courageous pilots who faced threats of sabotage, fierce rivalry, daunting weather, chauvinistic detractors, and mechanical failures. The women each strive to be the fastest aviatrix in the country. Powder Puff Pilots is written by award winning composer Cindy O'Conner ("Once Upon a Time”).
